On July 12, 2003, at the Hawaii Martial Arts International Society 4th Annual Hall of Fame Awards Banquet in Las Vegas, Nevada, Sifu Gregory Fong was inducted into the HMAIS Hall of Fame. In a ceremony including other exceptional martial artists, he received the 2003 Chinese Athletic Arts Academy Award.

The award reads, in part, "for deepest Dedication, Respect, and Honor, both personal and public. A constituent who performs many tasks with a sense of urgency and tenacity, professionalism and physical fitness, and above all integrity, in order to preserve and perpetuate the art of self defense with your years of knowledge, experience and leadership preparing the way for the next generations to come.
